NORTHSIDE VIKINGS ATOM A

We started this weekend tournament with an early start as the bus pulled out at 3am .We had a great drive on the bus with the kids having a blast and we got to PEI and we hit the ice running with a hudge effort and came out with a 6 to 1 win.What an effort the boys put in the played great as a team and made us proud.We had a good celebration on Friday nite and capped off before midnight. I was wondering if the early morning start would set in with the travel and the early mornings the 745 am game proved to be too early for our boys parents coaches and all as we went down in defeat to Chebucto 6-1 there wasn’t alot of effort understandably as we were all tired.WE then prepared for the afternoon game in Belfast we arrived at the rink(barn)to find a metal half moon building that slurps brother noah literally effortlessly ran to the top of the roof and turned to come back down .This rink was a memory in it’s self a rink with room to stand single file on the side for the fans and no room behind the bench at all not to mention a beauty salon if you needed a hair cut .The atmosphere was perfect to come out with a win in this place but it was not in our cards the boys played well in spurts and the pownal warriors brought their a game to give us an 8 -0 loss they did stop alot of good scoring chances but we were there to have fun and a good trip and we did have that .Kids these are memories of a hockey trip ,you will have and cherish for the rest of your lives.As a parent and a coach I had a great trip and I know that every parent there did as well playing guitars and singing every nite with the whole crew down stairs mini sticks and swimming for the kids we all had a great time .Now as I wrap this weekend up I am sitting here on the bus at the toll booth on the highway it is the quietest this bus has ever been every person on it wore out .This was a good team building trip right before our most important 3 weeks this year .The next game on Friday is the first game of the playoffs and are all must win games we now have to buckle down and give 110 percent to win these play off games and pave the road to provincials ………..
